The Technology and Digital Programs (TDP) group is home to the largest in-sourced ICT workforce in Australian federal government. We deliver a robust, secure, and resilient ICT environment so Australian citizens can access government services 24x7.The Core Infrastructure branch delivers network, telecommunications, gateway, data centre facilities, cloud connectivity and computing (mid-range and mainframe) and storage infrastructure. Our cutting-edge mainframe infrastructure is the largest in the country, supporting the Centrelink, Medicare, and Child Support programs. Our network covers more than 1,000 locations across Australia and supports secure network and gateway services for 11 other government agencies.About the role
As a Senior Technical Manager, you’ll drive and lead the upgrade of aging infrastructure under several high-profile projects to meet cyber security compliance.You’ll also lead operations and business-as-usual work to ensure stability and security for the current midrange infrastructure by planning ongoing development, maintenance and future strategy. Your expertise will enable you to ensure a stable Linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment that meets Essential 8 and Information Security Manual (ISM) hardening requirements.Work EnvironmentThe successful candidate may be required to support after hours scheduled work and participate in an on-call roster. Duties will be performed in an office environment based in Canberra (preferred) or another approved agency hub (Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide).
