AddressThe International and Peering team is accountable for the architecture, design, testing and implementation of Optus Internet Peering network.
This role is required to act as a technical lead, being responsible for all technical components of the solution including the scoping, design, testing, documentation, and all steps required for the successful implementation in the production network with specific focus on Internet, content peering and the underlying infrastructure.
The day to day – Key responsibilities in the role
- Onboarding of new equipment and/or solutions into the Optus network complying with network architecture, cyber, automation and operational requirements.
- Design and implementation of Internet Peering, Content Delivery Network and Peering Links with Content providers
- Responsible for identifying and arranging upgrades of the network equipment necessary to ensure the equipment is supportable and systemic issues identified in the network are addressed.
- Responsible for the technology roadmap and plan for the IP Network, including selection of new technologies, new equipment and new automation use cases to enhance the network capabilities.
- Interfacing with multiple groups within Optus and to manage contractors & vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

- Expert level knowledge on Border Gateway Routing Protocol, Segment Routing, IS-IS, MPLS VPN
- Have solid understanding of technologies to secure IP Network and Public Internet such as RPKI, DDOS solutions.
- Cisco / Juniper certification
- Experience in Service provider IP network with focus on Internet design and Content peering.
- Resolve problems that are generally non-standard and complex in an uncertain environment where not all information is known.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to lead fault investigation and resolution.
