Our client, an international insurance provider based in Sydney CBD is seeking a full-time permanent Senior Underwriter. This role will be suitable for candidates who have strong underwriting technical knowledge and willing to provide guidance to a team of underwriting assistants.
Description
Your key duties are following but not limited to:
- Underwrite new and existing policies and ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organisational guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes
- Attend regular meetings with UW agencies and evaluate U/W agencies assigned against SLA.
- Utilise and negotiate with reinsurance brokers and re-insurers
- Regular communications with the Finance department to assist with managing credit control issues.
- Provide solutions to customers and intermediaries (brokers , U/W agencies and other external partners)
- Evaluate risk for new and existing business
- Proactive monitoring and analysis of external risks
- Lead and coach a team of Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants
- Assist Head of Underwriting with a variety of tasks
Profile
To be successful candidate you are required to have:
- Strong underwriting knowledge within P&C (property & casualty underwriting)
- 5-10 years' experience in the industry preferred
- Relevant insurance or tertiary qualifications are desirable
- Excellent communication skill and organisational skill
- A high-level of accuracy and attention to detail
