The goal is to unlock the full potential in each colleague – empowering our people to grow as insurance professionals and add more value to our customers and AIG.How you will create an impactThis role is a critical position contributing to the growth and profit of the Financial Lines division by underwriting new and renewal business across the corporate Financial Lines portfolio, You will be required to develop and maintain relationships with existing and new brokers, ensure visibility of AIG in the market, assist management with reporting and work to carry out agreed strategies.Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
- Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting guidelines, relevant underwriting authority and AIG principles
- Develop a pipeline of new business and manage existing relationships to maximize value
- Identify target accounts, and monitor progress against budget by utilising appropriate reports and tools (such as Pipeline Report, Hit Rate report, Web Reports, Renewal Register etc.)
- Maintain accurate files, registers and records to contribute to management reporting and timely service and policy issuance
- Assist in the implementation of business plans in accordance with Financial Lines and company direction
- Assist in training and mentoring of junior underwriters to increase their product knowledge, to help them gain underwriting authority
- Knowledge of Directors & Officers insurance underwriting
- Understands key business drivers in the Directors & Officers insurance segment
- Client-orientated with the ability to build and maintain successful relationships
- Other relevant experience (i.e. in the insurance industry as an insurance broker, claims handler, reinsurance underwriter, risk manager, accountant, auditor, insurance lawyer or equivalent)
- Proven track-record in underwriting Financial Lines insurance products
- Previous experience within a commercial insurance/finance/legal environment, including exposure to clients and/or intermediaries
- Awareness of developments and trends in the commercial sector having insurance implications
