The opportunity
Due to internal progression, there is an opportunity for a Senior Property Underwriter to join our QBE team in Auckland, looking after our NZ Brokers portfolio.
This is a great role to step up within a Senior Underwriter role, to develop your leadership skills to coach and mentor the team with the opportunity to take on more complex projects.
Your new role
As the Senior Underwriter you will oversee and manage a portfolio in the commercial property space. Key elements of this role will include:
Contributing to the overall strategy, planning an execution of policies, product plan and outcomes of complex portfolio balance
Underwrite complex risk business in accordance with the business plan, guidelines within individual earned or delegated underwriting authority
Develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
Provide oversight and support to achieve growth via quotes, renewals, policy maintenance, problem solving and relationship building with intermediaries.
Provide underwriting advice, training, coaching and technical support to the underwriting team to assist in the development of individuals within the team
Support underwriters with new business and renewals, and providing quotations in a timely and professional manner within agreed underwriting parameters and service standards
About you
As a seasoned Underwriter, you will enjoy the opportunity to further develop your leadership style in an empowering and empathetic way. In addition, you will have:
An effective business partner, experienced in engaging with senior members of Insurance Brokers & with Customer presentations.
