About the Role
Responsible for the effective management and operation of Treatment Plants within the Coliban Water Region. Overseeing operations and maintenance of the Treatment Plants on a day-to-day basis to deliver safe Water Treatment services and meet the Company’s objectives. Supervising a team of 4 Treatment Plant Operators.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for the following –
- Programming of and allocating resources to projects/maintenance tasks to ensure deliverables are achieved in terms of quality, time and cost
- Assist with preparation and monitoring of budgets to ensure successful management maintenance of treatment plants and equipment
- Assist in financial administration of the water and wasteWater Treatment Plant operations
- Overseeing the management of Water Treatment Plants to ensure all output and regulatory requirements are achieved
- Coordinate the management of the day to day operation of Treatment Plants including: timely and accurate collation of status reports, staff toolbox
- Facilitation and verification of PM tasks and scheduling of works to maximise productivity and minimise resources and cost
- Show leadership qualities and inspire people to raise standards within the treatment operations team
- Build a team that meets operational requirements and seeks to enhance the performance of the treatment plants
- Liaise with the Manager, Treatment Plant Performance or their designee, to ensure operations and commercial risks are identified and effectively managed
- Ensure that the Integrated Management System for Quality, Safety and Environmental Management is operating and meeting the ISO, regulatory and client requirements
- Liaise with appropriate Manager / Supervisory staff regarding regulatory compliance
- Implement strategies to ensure that project targets are being met
- Identify and implement continuous improvement productivity increase opportunities.
About you
Experience required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Operation of Treatment Plants or allied industry.
Qualifications required
- Tertiary qualification in Chemical / Process Engineering or appropriate Operators Certificates III, IV –Essential
- A full Australian (Manual) Drivers License-Essential
Competencies required
- Sound knowledge of WaterTreatment Plants –processes, mechanical and electrical equipment, control systems, testing and record maintenance
- Solid experience in Water Treatment Processes;coagulation, MMF,UV,MF,UF,RO, DAF, chlorination, fluoridation etc. –operations and maintenance requirements, managing customer issues
- Knowledge of and capability to complete water processes onsite laboratory analyses and sensor/instrument calibrations
- Proficient in the use of MS Suite of applications, Excel, Word etc., and Asset Management systems
- Practical and Theoretical knowledge of SCADA and PLC Control Systems
