About the role
Our client is currently seeking a highly experience and professional Senior WHS & Compliance Advisor to join their team in Yatala. This is a permanent opportunity, working predominantly 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday with afterhours call outs to respond to onsite incidents.
Working in a stand-alone position, you will be responsible for the effective warehouse and transport operations, ensuring employee wellbeing and safe working conditions. This is a fast paced, dynamic role, where every day is different, providing autonomy to make decisions whilst being supported by the wider National team. You will also play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of WHS training communication and promotion on new safety systems across the workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate, foster and promote safety focused workforce
- Drive and lead safety engagement across customer operations
- Maintain up to date, thorough understanding of WHS policies and procedures throughout the operational environment
- Review and revise all current operational WHS documentation
- Develop and implement training communication and promotion on new safety systems
- Facilitate WHS training across the workforce, maintaining accurate records
- Undertake internal site-specific Safety Audits, generating reports
- Respond to audit findings, make recommendations, mitigating risks
- Complete safety risk assessments, incident investigations, reporting and recording of incidents
- Attend to safety incidents afterhours, as required
- Coordinate the rectification of major issues and repairs
- Ensure compliance with best practice and all Workcover requirements
About you
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels
- High attention to detail
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise competing deadlines
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office suite
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Sciences, Human Movement, Sport Science or an equivalent field
- Certificate IV in OHS
- Minimum 3 years experience in Work, Health and Safety within a 3PL or Logistics environment
- Thorough knowledge and experience working with Heavy Vehicle National Law
- Proven risk assessment and implementation of controls experience
- Management System Auditing accreditation desirable
- Valid Drivers licence
- Flexibility to complete afterhours work, as required
