The Role:
VincentCare Victoria is seeking an appropriately-qualified person to take on the position of the Senior Worker - Prioritisation and is responsible for the coordination and administration of tasks associated with prioritising homelessness service system resources for clients, including maintaining the prioritisation list. The prioritisation list is utilised for recording and linking clients with appropriate resources, including housing and/or support services associated with the homelessness service system.
The housing and/or support resources are advertised on the Vacancy Management System (VMS). Northern Community Hub is responsible for the prioritisation and allocation of clients for such resources for the Hume and Moreland Local Government Areas, and a key function is working with associated organisations and relevant stakeholders in the local area service network, to ensure effective and quality allocations are made to organisations with resource vacancies.
The Senior Worker - Prioritisation will undertake Interim Response 1 (IR1); the provision of information and ongoing communication with clients on the list while they await a service response, and will regularly advocate with other services, network and liaise with relevant stakeholders as well as clients.
Other key functions of the role include ensuring that systems and processes are established and maintained to support high levels of quality in the administration of core Access Point activities, and responding to referrals from internal and external services. The role will ensure that these functions are provided to the highest quality and consistent with the Opening Doors Framework, the Victorian Homelessness Assistance Service Standards, and applicable funding and service agreements.
Alongside prioritisation, a key function of this role is performing as Senior Worker of the Initial Assessment and Planning team. As such, the position works within the Initial Assessment and Planning team- this will include, from time to time, back up assistance to the IA&P team including direct service work, and prioritisation of specific tasks determined in conjunction with the Engagement Team Leader.
