About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled disability support professional, to provide mentoring and supervision to our team of disability Support Workers across our Supported Independent Living team in Port Augusta. The Senior Disability Support Worker will provide daily mentoring to Support Workers in the implementation of lifestyle plans and a person-centred approach. You will provide leadership to team members in routine daily support to service users and support the Disability Support Leader in ensuring compliance with Disability Standards and LWB’s values, policies and procedures. This is a permanent, full time opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the supervision of Support Workers including coaching and mentoring
- Provide quality direct support to clients in line with their support needs, the program they are accessing, and all support plans including their Individual Plan Increase the clients’ skills, independence, personal growth and development through the provision of active support and their enhanced participation as a valued member of their community
- Support other team members to fulfil documentation and reporting requirements regularly and accurately.
- Provide role modelling and on the job support and supervision to Disability Support Workers in provision of support to service users.
- Build a positive team environment by demonstrating of best practice support of clients, proactive interpersonal skills and peer support.
Skills & Experience
- Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
- Certificate III Individual Support, Community Services or similar (or willingness to obtain)
- Current ‘Provide First Aid’ Certificate (or willingness to obtain) including CPR
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Experience leading and motivating a team of Support Workers
- Advanced Administration and Computer skills
- Experience working with Complex Behaviours
