Novita provides early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology and disability services to more than 6,000 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families to participate in the community to their full potential.About the roleThe role of Senior Support Worker is a service delivery role rostered to provide supports to people living with disability in our group programs in our hubs and other community settings as well as individualised support. The incumbent provides client centred leadership within a team by modelling best practice service delivery, with a focus on coaching and mentoring team members to develop their practice and the outcomes for clients. The position supports the Service Coordinator in the day-to-day management of the hub and oversees operations in their absence.This is a full-time position based at Mitcham and is paid in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 3.As a Senior Support Worker, you will:
- model best practice service delivery with clients including person-centred, strengths-based approaches
- work directly with clients as rostered, providing and supporting others to provide personal care, transfer and positioning and delivery of all health supports, including medication administration and mealtime assistance, aligned with the individual's care plans
- coach Support Workers and support best practice provision of disability services
- provide practical training, support and mentoring within your scope of practise and work with the Service Coordinator to identify areas for improvement
- carry out audits, induct new staff, participate in shadow shifts, respond to incidents, and fill shifts as needed
- deliver quality service improvement in line with the 'Stepping into the Future' project and SCERTS.

- minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Disability or equivalent
- currency in all of Novita's mandatory training requirements
- a valid driver's licence.
- A valid working with children check and NDIS clearance.
