The role of the Senior Youth Services Officer is to develop and coordinate service provision to young people detained in the Caboolture Watchhouse Hub (CWH). This includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure support services, education, medical treatment, and other provisions relating to their overall wellbeing are effectively delivered to young people while accommodated at this facility. You will also provide mentoring and support to Youth Services Officers in the delivery of services.
You will be required to contribute to a safe and secure environment for young people and staff. The department will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver relevant responses. This role involves direct contact and interaction with young people accommodated in the watchhouse.

As a Senior Youth Services Officer, you will specifically:
- Implement, develop, and oversee Youth Justice procedures for the supervision and direct care of young people in custody, ensuring a safe, secure and positive environment for young people.
- Supervise and manage the provision of quality and professional interactions between Youth Services Officers, young people and other stakeholders.
- Actively promote and monitor a high standard of safety and security within the Caboolture Watchhouse, including oversight of Youth Justice intel functions.
- Oversee watchhouse shifts including the coordination and prioritisation of Youth Justice resources.
- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, monitor young people's wellbeing, responding to their needs and maximising opportunities for them to participate in programs, activities and the provision of other services.
- Lead and promote positive workplace behaviour.
- Oversee the development and application of the positive behavioural support framework through monitoring the daily behaviour of young people and facilitating opportunities for young people to develop and progress their rehabilitative and reintegrative processes and strategies.
- Lead, coach, and provide relevant and timely feedback in the supervision and performance monitoring of Youth Services Officer, including on the job mentoring and an individual performance assessment process.
- Ensure consistent operations through the development of avenues for accurate, timely and relevant information sharing and teamwork strategies.
- Ensure information collated and entered into information systems is monitored and quality assured e.g. incident reports, suicide risk assessment, security audits.
- Liaise and information share with a range of internal and external stakeholders to assist the development and delivery of effective young person management practices and a range of client-related services.
