As we expand our paediatric therapy program, we seek a dynamic and experienced Senior or Lead Occupational Therapist to join our team and drive excellence in clinical practice.

About the Role

The Senior or Lead Paediatric Occupational Therapist will serve as a key member of our paediatric therapy team, providing advanced clinical expertise and leadership to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our services. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of NDIS-focused occupational therapy services and interventions, providing clinical supervision and mentorship to staff, and implementing best practices to optimise client outcomes. The Senior or Lead will also collaborate with leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at advancing our paediatric therapy program. You will maintain a reduced caseload to support your leadership endeavours. 

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Paediatric Occupational therapy team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.
  • Conduct complex assessments and develop individualised care plans for children with diverse developmental, sensory, and motor challenges.
  • Supervise and mentor occupational therapy staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to promote professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams nationally to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to interventions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical protocols, standards, and policies to ensure consistency and quality of care.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, research, and best practices in Paediatric Occupational therapy, and integrate findings into clinical practice.
  • Participate in program development initiatives, including the expansion of services, quality improvement projects, and community outreach efforts.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for clients, families, and external stakeholders, advocating for the needs of children with developmental challenges.
 
About You

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, including experience working as a senior clinician.
  • AHPRA registered, including membership to OTA (or eligible to register).
  • Demonstrated experience working in paediatrics.
  • Significant experience within the NDIS.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a proven ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Evidence of mentoring, team leading, or supervising staff.
