About a Principle Senior Role

As well as maintaining a reduced case load, our Principle Senior Therapists are focused on nurturing less experienced therapists towards professional confidence and competence. 

As a principle senior therapist, you are allocated ‘supervisees’ to meet with regularly in order to support their learning, as well as providing informal support to the whole team of speech pathologists and Occupational Therapists

Our Senior leadership team have regular meetings and trainings to develop the skills needed to be a good mentor, teacher and supervisor to less experienced therapist.

Clinical Principle Seniors are well supported by the Clinical Director and Clinical Leads and have the opportunity to:

  • Mentor/Lead Occupational Therapists (and indirectly Speech Pathologists)
  • Manage and contribute content to the Graduate Program, and supervise the multiple graduates in the program   
  • Develop/modify clinical delivery methods and operational systems that support clinicians 
  • Create new resources and service delivery
  • Instigate, plan and deliver regular Professional Development Team Training (whether live or pre-recorded)
  • Enjoy supported growth into the role (Leadership training)
  • Have a reduced clinical caseload, so you have the time to support other staff

About You

This role is ideal for you if you have:

  • 3 years+ Paediatric experience (Senior)
  • 4 years+ Paediatric experience (Principle Senior)
  • OT Australia Membership
  • Current and ‘not prohibited’ DCSI Working with Children Check & NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to quickly establish rapport with clients, families and professionals
  • Have a solution focused strength based mindset 
  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Genuine passion (and experience) for mentoring and supervising good therapists into awesome therapists! 
  • Passion to make a difference in the lives of children, their parents and their teachers through nurturing the skill and impact delivered by the therapists your guidance.
  • Clinical interest in working with toddlers to teenagers with:
    • Neuro-divergence (Autism, ADHD)
    • Development Delays
    • Learning Delays and Disorders
    • Speech Sound difficulties 
    • Language Delays or Disorders
    • Sensory Processing Difficulties
    • Literacy Difficulties
