Position BasisThe role is an ongoing position, with flexible work arrangements, based in our Brisbane office. The commencement date is negotiable, but can be from April 2024.
Primary Responsibilities- To manage Dam Safety Risk evaluation and management assessments, consequence assessments, emergency action plans, flood operation manuals and operational risk assessments, and deliver them in a cost-effective and timely manner, with outputs tailored to the needs of the client.
- Typical activities will involve developing project scopes, budgets, timelines, safety and quality plans either as Project Director or as Project Manager, and managing a small team to complete the tasks that comprise the project. This will include the delivery of a strong existing pipeline of work for our key clients such as Seqwater and Sunwater.
- To develop business opportunities and prepare tenders for new and existing clients.
- Typical activities will involve working with other senior HARC staff to identify prospects, and positioning the team to respond via tenders and other forms of engagement with clients.

Key Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will:
QualificationsBe a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or hold an equivalent professional registration. If you do not hold professional registration, you must be eligible and willing to obtain RPEQ status within 6 months of commencing employment.
Knowledge / Skills- Understand the key principles of Dam Safety engineering and/or dam operation, and have the ability to apply this knowledge in standard and novel ways to solve simple and complex engineering problems
- Have a working knowledge of relevant ANCOLD guidelines
- Write concise reports and presentations summarising the purpose, method and important outcomes of a project
- Communicate regularly and effectively with clients and other project team members
- Produce and review the calculations and documentation within a wide variety of consulting projects
- Manage their own time when provided with task timelines and budgets
- Manage projects to deliver high quality outputs within the project budget and timeline
- Have at least five or more years of experience in the Australian water / dams industry.
Recent experience working for an engineering consultancy is also desirable.

LocationThe role is based in HARC’s Brisbane office with the ability to collaborate with our Melbourne office (Blackburn) and Sydney office (Parramatta). Flexible working arrangements will be offered as part of the role.
HARC remuneration framework- Base salary (reviewed annually), plus superannuation
