About the role
As the Senior Engineer (Floodplain Management) you will be part of the Emergency Management Section and will play a key role to:
- Coordinate the development, implementation, reporting and evaluation of the Council's local floodplain management plan to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to floodplain management including aspects of flood risk planning, preparedness, forecasting, mitigation, and community resilience.
- Ensure that Council has the operational capacity and capability to deliver hazard analysis and support during weather and flood events.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Substantial ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve organisational outcomes, and to maintain and foster good relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers.
- Approach floodplain management passionately, innovatively and with agility
- A degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental) leading to eligibility for graduate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia
- Believe in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
