About the team
Regional, Delivery & Safety (RDS) IT support three Transport Divisions; Safety, Environment and Regulation, Infrastructure & Place and Regional and Outer Metropolitan. Our purpose is to enable our clients to innovate, scale and achieve outcomes through faster and more effective delivery of business applications and IT services.
Our team leverages Human Centred Design methodologies and tools to design solutions to address user needs across all customer touchpoints, channels, and journeys. We use a progressive ethos in the team that’s not found in traditional business structures – giving a unique advantage over the rest to make greatness happen.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an ongoing full-time opportunity for a Service and Experience Designer to join our Digital Products and Technology team.
This role will develop, implement, and maintain both processes around Service design and Experience Design to visualize, uplift and put forth recommendations around business concepts. This will include but not be limited to:
- Planning and executing co-design workshops with stakeholders
- Designing user journey maps and Service Blueprints
- Leading product discovery process (storyboards, site maps, wireframes, documentation etc.)
- Developing Brand/Product themes, verify and monitoring products, documentation, and training material to follow similar usability and visual flow
- Translating user requirements into usability requirements and ensuring these are met at conclusion of UX design stage

About you
At your core you are a person with passion – for solving problems, for working with people, for technology and for learning.
You’re an excellent communicator with the ability translate technical concepts into plain English, acting as a bridge between business and SME’s.
You have working knowledge of Design Thinking and Human Centred Design with a clear understanding of how to apply it to projects using best practice.
You will also have:
- Mastery of Collaboration and Experience Design Tools.
- Working knowledge of business analysis processes to identify opportunities and risk management.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, promote and motivate highly skilled technical staff to deliver desired outcomes.
- Able to prioritise competing tasks and deadlines
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9A ($142,178) – 9E ($159,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
