Elephants Foot Service and Care is currently seeking a skilled, motivated, and experienced field service technician to join our high performing team. Backed by over 40 years' experience in the waste equipment industry, we are a national market and industry leader in the service and maintenance of chute systems and waste handling equipment across multi-unit residential complex's, hotels, and other developments.
About your new role
As an Elephants Foot Service and Care technician (mechanical), you will perform a broad and varied scope of work to meet, support and service the needs of our customers. With no two days the same, your typical tasks may include troubleshooting, setup, installation, and commissioning of service of waste equipment and systems (including chute unblockages), attending machinery and equipment breakdowns i.e., compactors and balers and other ADHOC duties.
Requirements to succeed
- Mechanical Trades background and experience. Electrical trade or restricted electrical license will be highly regarded noting this role is 80% mechanical
- Ability to provide on-call emergency service as required and maintain communication with the department manager while in the field.
- High degree of professionalism, as you will be representing our company on the ground
- Ability to work well as a part of a team and show initiative in all unsupervised activities
- Understanding of mechanical and basic electrical and hydraulic systems, installations and processes
- The ability to read and understand basic electrical wiring diagrams and electromechanical systems
- Ability to manage varying project/field conditions with the confidence to make decisions to solve problems and changes onsite
- Willingness to get dirty with a hands-on approach
Essential requirements.
- Mechanical Trade i.e. Fitter and Turner (boiler makers considered) or electrical Fitter/Electrician with mechanical experience
- A construction general induction card, e.g. white card or blue card
- Forklift license (HRWL - LF)
- COVID-19 vaccination (and booster)
- A current unrestricted drivers' licence with the confidence and ability to operate manual vehicles and have a good clean driving record
- Electrical license including restricted will be highly regarded
