Service Design Lead

Responsibilities: 

1. Influence and shape Product digital services by advocating for a human-centred approach
2. Manage stakeholder relationships, facilitating difficult and complex discussions and guiding collaborative processes to support the delivery of Product digital services.
3. Work to understand end-user cohorts and their needs, documenting Personas and linking them to Scenarios in our Dev/Ops tool
4. Prepare a User Centred Design guidebook for development teams and provide process checks and support to ensure good practice is applied
5. Manage user research and end-user system testing
6. Evaluate exiting user interfaces (including printed materials such as Letters and Notices) and identify opportunities for improvement – make complex and tax-technical (legislative) information simple and accessible
7. Provide progress reports as directed
8. Work across multiple projects and business-as-usual activities simultaneously (a matrix environment)

Requirements: 

1. Extensive experience in User Centred Design activities;
2. A strong and recent background in designing transformative digital services;
3. Highly effective communicator with both business and ICT personnel;
4. Recent experience in designing digital business solutions delivered in any of the following would be highly regarded:
   1. Experience in use of design systems such as ACT Government Website Design System
   2. Reactive and responsive web component development
   3. OutSystems Platform-as-a-Service (or other low-code platforms)
   4. Agile software delivery methodologies
   5. MS Dev/Ops
