About the RoleThe Service Desk Officer is responsible for providing client focused technical support for desktops, mobile devices and peripherals used at the ANU. An integral part of this role is providing first point of contact for IT related support in a Service Desk environment.
Key Duties:
Customer Service and client services management: Acts as the routine contact point. Assists with the development of and applies client services standards to resolve or escalate clients’ service problems.
Service desk and incident management: Receives and handles requests for support following agreed procedures. Responds to requests for support by providing information to enable incident resolution and promptly allocates unresolved calls as appropriate. Maintains records and advises relevant persons of actions taken.
Service level management: Monitors and logs the actual service provided, in alignment with the relevant service level agreements.
Security administration: Investigates minor security breaches in accordance with established procedures. Assists users in defining their access rights and privileges and operates agreed logical access controls and security systems. Maintains agreed security records and documentation.
Applications support: Assists in the investigation and resolution of issues relating to applications. Assists with specified maintenance procedures.
Writes and maintains technical, operational and client facing documentation in support of IT service delivery.
Provides scheduled out of hours work from time to time as required.
Complies with all ANU policies and procedures, and in particular those relating to work health and safety and equal opportunity.
