The AEC's focus is on electoral integrity through the values of quality, agility and professionalism.The TeamThe AEC has a dispersed network of 151 electoral divisions, 30 of which are located across Queensland including the State Office in Brisbane CBD and 14 single and multi-divisional office sites across the state.The current vacancy for a Service Officer is with the Rockhampton Office in Queensland.The role supports the team in delivering business outcomes and works in a small dynamic team. Our team size increases significantly during an event where we scale up and engage our temporary election workforce. During the delivery of an election, the Service Officer will play an integral role in supporting Team leaders and other project managers to facilitate extensive logistic, recruiting, training and fast-moving project work.At the AEC you will develop strong connections with colleagues and supportive networks, as we all work to deliver an impartial and independent electoral system with high integrity.The OpportunityWe are looking for an agile, self-motivated, results-driven person who will support our Team Leaders with event planning, delivery, and evaluation. A proactive individual who can work under pressure, and independently under limited guidance, as required.The Service officer contributes to a range of activities to support electoral operations, including elections, enrolment, and engagement programs. You will be required to undertake specialist, procedural, clerical, administrative support, or operational tasks including some basic research and analysis activities.You will provide frontline client services to members of the public, including answering enquiries on and assisting with electoral enrolment and during an electoral event, you will also be required to supervise a small team as well as provide training to aid in the delivery of planned activities.To excel you'll have:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders, tailoring communication to suit the intended audience.
• Computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other computer software; any Microsoft Excel proficiency will be highly regarded.
