Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers guarantees clear title to Buyers at our auctions. To ensure that is possible, all items sold are searched by means of online searching with the Personal Property Registries across Australia and New Zealand.  Our FinOps Department is looking for a Settlements Reviewer to commit on a full-time permanent basis - based in Yatala, QLD

The Opportunity:

RBA guarantees that all buyers will purchase equipment that is free and clear of encumbrances. The Settlement Reviewer contributes to the overall risk management of the Seller Services front-end cycle. Major responsibilities of quality assurance include reviewing and approving settlement statements as well as lien search information to ensure file completion before each account is settled according to contract terms and company policy to mitigate risk. As a Settlements Reviewer you will be:

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and verifying all contract information, lien searches and settlement statement payment and payee information prepared by the settlement associates for accuracy and compliance with contract and company policy and approving payments
  • Reviewing and approving pre-sale advances, inventory purchases initiated by Search Administrators, verifying contract information and lien search for accuracy and compliance with company risk policy prior to approving and initiating payments
  • Uploading post-sale auction results into AS400 initiating settlement process
  • Ensuing compliance with company policy and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies independently and/or in collaboration with Settlement Associates, Search Administrator and Sale Site staff
  • Overall participation and management of quality assurance reporting for Seller Services KPIs, by recording exceptions in lien/settlement system or spreadsheets.
  • Any other duties as required.

Here’s what you bring:

  • 1-3 years of experience working in an office environment.
  • Finance / Shared Services background highly regarded.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Office package.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Detail orientated and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a high-volume, high pressure environment.
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check. 
  • A solid work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job.
