The Sexual Violence Local Link Coordinator Role
The Sexual Violence Local Link Coordinator role focuses on bridging the gap between local General Practices and Sexual Assault and Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services. This includes developing relationships with GP’s and other practice staff in local clinics to support with providing trauma informed and best practice responses to victim/survivors of Sexual Violence. This position is part of a national trial currently being rolled out across Australia. The ongoing learnings derived from this program directly feed into the development of the national trial.
The Sexual Violence Local Link Coordinator will provide information, advice, and support to primary health staff regarding how to appropriately respond to disclosures of sexual assault as well as suitable referral options. The Sexual Violence Local Link Coordinator will also engage with victim/survivors directly in response to referrals received from primary health staff.
This role would also entail the Sexual Violence Local Link Coordinator to work alongside the Local Link Team Leader to develop essential partnerships with key government agencies and community organisations needed for delivering an integrated service response to Sexual Violence.
The Sexual Violence Local Link Coordinator is primarily accountable to the Local Link Team Leader, Logan Central Services Manager, COO, CEO and the Board of The Centre for Women & Co. however, given the collaborative nature of the organisation, all team members are also accountable to the team. The Sexual. Violence Local Link Coordinator will be required to undertake a level of organisational and administrative work in addition to the direct service delivery functions of the position.
- Provide support, advice and referral services for Logan, Redlands and the Scenic Rim general practices and their patients affected by sexual assault and domestic and family violence.
- Work with Brisbane South PHN and their network (GP consultant, lived experience consultant, other relevant peak bodies) to provide support and engage with general practices and other relevant allied health bodies.
- Develop engagement strategies that support general practice to embed a trauma informed and best practice responses to Sexual Violence.
- Support primary health to implement practice-level measures that enable victim survivors of Sexual Violence to receive appropriate, safe and timely support for their experience.
- Provide support to victim/survivors of Sexual Violence through intake, assessment and on-referral.
- Support general practice staff to: build their understanding of the gender nature and social drivers of Sexual Violence, provide trauma-informed responses to disclosures; and understand their role in assessment and referral.
- Foster connections between general practices, specialist Sexual Assault Services, specialist Domestic and Family Violence Services and other support agencies in the Logan, Redlands, and Scenic Rim region as part of the integrated service system.
This role requires tertiary qualifications in social work, health, psychology, counselling, or in any areas of community development and services. This role would also benefit from demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of Sexual Violence and Domestic and Family Violence, demonstrated understanding of and experience working within current legislation (Sexual Assault Counselling Privilege 2017, Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012).
The Child and Youth Sexual Assault Local Link Coordinator Role
The Child and Youth Sexual Assault Local Link Coordinator is a specialist role focusing on capacity building with General Practices across the Logan, Redlands and Beaudesert Region. This includes developing relationships with GP’s and other practice staff in local clinics to support with providing trauma informed and best practice responses to victim/survivors of Child Sexual Abuse. This position is part of a national trial currently being rolled out across Australia. The ongoing learnings derived from this program directly feed into the development of the national trial.
The Child and Youth Sexual Assault Local Link Coordinator will provide information, advice, and support to primary health staff regarding how to appropriately respond to disclosures of Child Sexual Abuse as well as suitable referral options. The Child and Youth Sexual Assault Local Link Coordinator will also engage with protective caregivers in order to facilitate safe and appropriate referrals for children.
This role would also entail the Child and Youth Sexual Assault Local Link Coordinator to work alongside the Local Link Team Leader to develop essential partnerships with key government agencies and community organisations needed for delivering an integrated service response to Sexual Violence.

This role requires tertiary qualifications in social work, health, psychology, counselling, or in any areas of community development and services. This role would also benefit from demonstrated experience working with Children and Young People who have experienced trauma. Comprehensive knowledge of Child Sexual Abuse, Sexual Violence and Domestic and Family Violence, demonstrated understanding of and experience working within current legislation (Child Protection Act 1999, Sexual Assault Counselling Privilege 2017, Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012).
Salary and Benefits
- SCHADS Level 5.1($47.50p/h) Part-Time (30 Hours Per Week)
- Contract until June 2026

We have set start dates for new team members so that they can undertake our supportive induction process with our Practice and Development Lead and Risk & Culture Officer. This process allows new team members to have set time to learn more about our organisation, our practice frameworks and set up all equipment and logins.
