RUC Mining Contractors are excited to be seeking expressions of interest from local Appin, NSW residents wanting to gain mining experience and join our Shaft Sinking project.
RUC brings a wide range of experience to our Shaft Sinking Division working on some of the largest shafts in the world, often in the harshest conditions. From the remote highlands of Papua to the technically challenging urban landscapes of Hong Kong.
The following roles are available during the traineeship.
- Trainee Braceman
- Trainee Shaft Miner
If you are an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a trades background who shows great initiative, good communication skills and a willingness to learn, we want to hear from you.
Minimum Requirements:
- You must reside in Appin, NSW.
- A valid manual C Class driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test.
- A National Police Clearance (within 6 months old) or willing to apply.
- An inquisitive nature, desire to learn and ability to follow direction and instruction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and be comfortable with confined spaces.
- Dedication to safety and a proactive approach to incident prevention.
Details about the Traineeship:
Candidates that are successful during the interview and onboarding process will be invited to complete a 6-week training program based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Flights and accommodation from NSW will be provided.
Once successful candidates have completed the training program, the positions will be based on a Drive in Drive Out arrangement to our Appin project, working 14 days on 14 days off roster rotation.
You will embark on a comprehensive program to maximise your learning experience, gain safety awareness, and understand all things Shaft Sinking.
