If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Safety Consultant at Nestle Purina PetCare. As a Safety Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our people. Your expertise in identifying and mitigating risks, combined with your knowledge of safety protocols and procedures, will be instrumental in maintaining a secure and nurturing environment for all animals in our care. This role is based in Blayney and is a 12 - month contract.Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Nestlé Global Standards, 45001 & 14001, and legal requirements for site safety, health, and environmental (SHE) practices.
  • Develop necessary documents for the SHE management system.
  • Implement processes required for the effective implementation of the management system.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the site on the application and implementation of the SHE management system.
  • Ensure all critical operation controls have proper documentation in place as per Nestlé standards.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with site activities.
  • Develop and implement an emergency management system.
  • Implement contractor management and associated permit-to-work (PTW) system.
  • Ensure timely reporting of incidents, completion of investigations, and closure of corrective actions.
  • Report SHE performance to site management, including lead and lag indicators.
  • Identify, develop, and implement improvement initiatives to enhance site SHE performance.
  • Ensure compliance with measuring and monitoring requirements, such as workplace inspections and mandatory compliance inspections.
  • Support and influence visible SHE leadership on the shop floor, including management and leadership of the SHE committee.
  • Develop and document the process for the site safety committee.
  • Conduct and coordinate SHE training according to the annual training plan and requirements.
Skills and experience:
  • Proficient in developing and implementing systems to meet ISO 14001 & 45001 (or similar) standards.
  • Extensive experience in health and safety roles.
  • Proven track record of working independently and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Skilled in navigating complex situations to achieve results.
  • Experienced in conducting effective training sessions for small groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and coach others.
  • Holds formal qualifications in health and safety.
  • Possesses a diverse background that can be applied to the pet care center.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
