Sheetmetal Tradesman

Giide is working with a leading Australian manufacturing company in Yatala, Queensland. We are seeking skilled Sheetmetal Tradespeople to join our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products and value the contributions of our dedicated workforce.
  
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Liaise with Shop Floor Supervisor or Operations Manager on work/job fabrication schedule.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Fabricate items as per specifications.
• Cleaning up/polishing of fabricated parts as required.
• Preparation of items for galvanizing or powder coating.
• Minor assembly work.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workshop/fabrication bay.
• Contribute to improving the company Business Management System.
• Participate in and comply with the requirements of the BMS, policies, and procedures.
• Focus on customer requirements and satisfaction.
• Comply with legal and other compliance requirements.
• Report opportunities for improvements via the improvement system.
• Other duties as directed by your supervisor or MD.

Experience, Skills & Abilities:

• Mig and Tig welding experience with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• General Fabrication experience.
• Ability to read drawings.
• Proficient use of hand tools related to your trade.
• Ability to work within company agreed standard times.
• Understanding of Quality Management System processes.
• Strong team focus and collaborative work approach.
• Initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a dynamic team.
• Positive attitude with energy and focus.
• Understanding of the importance of company brand and culture.
• Willingness to work with instruction and meet desired outcomes.
• Ability to work overtime with notice.
• Punctuality - arrive at work on time.

Desirable Qualifications, Competencies & Licenses:

• C Class manual driver’s license.
• Forklift License.
• Mig/Tig Welding certificate.
• Onsite induction safety card.
• Polishing experience.
• Trade qualification in sheet metal plus 5+ years trade experience.
