AddressThe Role:
Ventia are currently seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our Defence contract. You will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and governance of SHEQ programs, systems and processes for the contract. This role acts as the key interface between the SHEQ Manager and operational delivery. This is a 12 month fixed term role based at Keswick Barracks.
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance.
As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
The responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:
- Undertake review of contractor project documentation
- Work with Ventia project officers to ensure that construction works adhere to safety requirements
- Conduct field inspections and complete audits on contractor works and management systems
- Adhere with legislations, regulations and standards and that all activities on the project are undertaken in a safe manner, and with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation
- Undertake investigations in relation to safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team. Engaging with Ventia SHEQ were appropriate.
- Ensuring risk assessments and risk registers are maintained and all records are managed in accordance with Company requirements
Education and Qualifications:
- Formal training in incident investigation ICAM methodology
- Construction Induction card
Technical Competencies:
- Have suitable experience as a safety professional in construction safety and possess the required technical skills and knowledge to perform the role.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in safety / environment / quality or relevant industry role
- Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a high risk construction environment
- Ability to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and drive continuous improvement.
