Great opportunity to join a successful Engineering and Manufacturing business in the Eastern suburbs, This well-established company has a strong, stable history in the Manufacturing Sector with 80 staff.
In this position you will be responsible for the managing and implementing Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Assurance systems across the business. You will be assisting in driving the 'safety first' culture by overseeing workplace health and safety strategy and initiatives.
The role will involve the following;
- Develop and manage internal none conformance processes to address issues arising from audits
- Conduct risk assessments and develop management plans for forklift trucks, pedestrians, visitors
- Compile monthly HSEQ toolbox talk briefs
- Develop, audit, and maintain pre-start checklist processes
- Oversee TPM and records for safety critical equipment such as cranes and mobile equipment
- Audit and implement corrective actions for equipment with guarding/estops
- Implement and maintain risk management procedure
- Audit and refine procedures for chemical handling, labelling, storage and MSDS
- Manage noise assessment, hearing assessments, PPE compliance
- Manage airborne contaminant hazards through monitoring, PPE and equipment recommendations
- Develop, coordinate and manage ongoing training requirements for WHS, risk assessment, incident investigation / reporting
- Manage, create, review, audit safe work procedures
- Audit storage areas for condition, labelling, SWL, secure packing
- Coordinate manual handling training
- Coordinate test and tag of electrical equipment
- Implement MIARA (Maintenance, Internal Audit, Risk Assessment) visual management process.
- Drive periodic OHS meetings and assign tasks for completion, manage the process to close issues
- Audit and maintain first aid kits
This is a new position the role is suited to an applicant who is detailed and task-focused, can multitask and thrives in a busy work environment.
TO APPLY YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
- Tertiary education.
- Experience in SHEQ.
- Ideally, come from a Manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Implementing MIARA (Maintenance, Internal Audit, Risk Assessment)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
