Main Responsibilities:
- As per the Master Coach Visit Playbook, carry out Master Coach vessel visits onboard DOO member / owned vessels.
- Preparation and liaison with vessel/owner/operator for safe and timely boarding of vessels for MC Vessel Visit
- Submit report after completion of each MC Vessel visit.
- Following a significant incident onboard a chartered/owned fleet vessel, assist as requested to carry out an incident investigation and submit a report.
- Carry out analysis of MC Visit Findings and assist Principal Master Coach in preparing the quarterly report on the DOOS program.
- Participate in training and feedback sessions as arranged by the company.
- Desk bound project works as required in accordance with this scope of works from time to time.
Criteria:
- Class 1 (Deck or Engineering) Certificate of Competency or equivalent work experience. 60 months of sea service, of which 24 months of sea service as a Senior Officer onboard bulk ore carriers and/or tankers is highly preferred.
- Three to five years of work experience implementing safety systems and applying HSSEQ legislation, including auditing/inspecting vessels, is a must.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and planning skills, including managing and prioritising multiple tasks.
- Knowledgeable about the shipping industry's HSSEQ regulations and requirements, international and local standards, and best practices. Familiarity with audit software tools and data analysis tools is also necessary.
- Experience in facilitation, training and promoting safety procedures and principles.
- Previous experience in the vetting / marine risk management department for a major Mining or Integrated Oil & Gas Company is advantageous.
