ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shipwright to join our growing team. This role will.
Fitting out Wheelhouse and Accommodation areas on new vessels and preparing vessel for launch. Constructing composite superstructures such as wheelhouse, fly bridge on new vessels. Complete maintenance on existing vessels including, refits, windows, doors, composite repairs etc. Work Standards: To be measured by job being completed on budget and time with no faults.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Building cabinets
- Installing ceilings and walls to accommodation area
- Installing ceilings to wheelhouse area
- Installing furniture such as eating areas, kitchens
- Installing seating
- Installing windows
- Setup and execute large infusions.
- Setup and construct moulds
- Carry out gel coating and hand laminating.
- Interpret drawings.
ABOUT YOU:
Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction or Certificate III in Carpentry/Cabinet Making or 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Can work within a team.
- Can work unsupervised.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Meet strict deadlines.
- Sound time management and people skills.
