AddressReporting to the CMI Leader, the Shopper Insights Manager will have accountability for driving competitive advantage for Mars Petcare via the delivery of superior and compelling Shopper Insights to stimulate, guide and influence the development of superior customer strategies, decision making and market activations.
The Shopper Insights Manager will possess superior analytical skills, research & business acumen and use the insights they gain to drive category and customer growth strategies. They will have proven experience in data analysis techniques, and generating actionable insights that will drive strategic decision making. As such they should possess a strong strategic agility along with a superior drive for results and a real passion for understanding shoppers and in doing so become the ‘voice of the shopper’ both internally and externally.
What are we looking for?
- Degree Qualified in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science etc, with an advanced degree in data management and analytics preferred
- Demonstrable experience in Shopper Insights or category demonstrating partnering across the organization to analyse a range of internal & external data sources, key insights and forming recommendations on the basis of solid commercial knowledge and strong linkage to business strategy.
- Demonstrable working experience with sales data such as IRI, Quantium or IRI and a track record of successfully translating Shopper Insights into action and delivering results; comfortable presenting to and engaging with Sr. Leaders or strategic forums simplifying complex Concepts and Strategies.
- Astute commercial and financial skills with a strong understanding of retailer (ideally major FMCG retailers such as Coles and Woolworths), sales strategies, understanding the impacts of decisions on the P&L.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Use shopper tracking, analysis and research data across multiple sources (e.g. Circana, Shopper Panel, Quantium, PQA and bespoke research), to translate insights into compelling shopper strategies.
- Manage and execute complex and challenging insights projects focussed upon generating superior understanding of Petcare shoppers along the whole Path to Purchase and in an Omni-channel (Bricks and Mortar, On-line and SPT) context incl: Shopper Funnels, Shopper Missions, Eye Tracking, Path to Purchase, Channel and Retailer Choice, In Store Decision Making,Pricing Elasticity
- Provides market understanding including estimates of market size where data is unavailable to provide a view of total market context.
- Delivers insights as compelling retailer sell in stories that link Petcare Strategy to Retailer strategies and Category Growth
- Continuous improvement of insight Methodologies and Research practices resulting in definitive ‘better/best practice’
