Simulator Educator

Departments: Postgraduate Medical Education & Simulation

Joondalup Health Campus, Joondalup

About the role

We are actively looking for a Simulation Educatorresponsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating simulation-based education and training programs.

You will play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and competencies of healthcare professionals, ultimately improving patient care and safety through advanced training techniques.

Principal responsibilities to include (but not limited to):

  • Contributes to and participates in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in Simulation Based Education activities that includes, Scenario based education, Clinical Skills based workshops, & full day programs
  • Liaison with the Simulation Manager regarding Simulation Based Education hospital wide.
  • The Simulation Educator will also make a valuable contribution to the hospital Quality Improvement process.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values
  • Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated post registration experience within either critical care, emergency, or simulation education
  • Be proficient in all clinical skills relevant to the chosen field (Critical care/Emergency or Simulation) and demonstrate competency in hospital specific competencies
  • Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings
  • Current Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support level 2 instructor Status
  • High level interpersonal and (written and verbal) communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Positive attitude to change management including demonstrated professional and positive approach
  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Sound computer literacy in all Microsoft programs. 

Desirable:

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications
  • Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Provider or APLS instructor
  • Completion of Cert IV Training and Assessment – TAE40122.

Remuneration: On offer is base annual salary ranging from $101,393.65 - $107,728.19 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4)

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
