Your responsibilities will include:

Located at RAAF Base Sale the AIR 5428 Pilot Training System partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce. Implementing a tailored learning solution, Lockheed Martin leads the delivery of this approach for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army candidates from RAAF Base East Sale and RAAF Base Pearce in Western Australia.
This Specialist Technician level role ranges in responsibility from the conduct of PC-21 Simulation operations, through to the maintenance and support activities required for a variety of technical equipment and facilities. With candidates required to have a proven history in the repair and maintenance of technical equipment. With an ability to facilitate the following:

  • Operation of PC-21 Simulators
  • Conduct of investigations, troubleshooting and analysis of technical equipment
  • Oversee conduct of maintenance in accordance with defined WHS requirements
  • Perform installation, test, repair and modification of electronic equipment in accordance with technical instructions.
  • Co-ordination and scheduling of sub-contractors
  • Generate and complete work orders as directed using the approved Maintenance Management System

About you:

This role will suit an experienced technician who has a diverse skillset that is able to be complemented by further in-house development in aspects relating to Aviation, Electronics and Audio-visual maintenance. A member with the following attributes:

  • Excellent levels of leadership & motivation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to apply structured operational maintenance plans to meet maintenance, operational and quality objectives.
  • Computer literacy with an ability to analyse and interpret maintenance information
  • Intermediate to advanced skills/experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages
  • Understanding of WHS and security application and responsibilities
  • Experience in the use of a Maintenance Management Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to use engineering change control/configuration management systems.
  • Tertiary/Trade qualifications (Certificate III or above) in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, audio-visual, IT from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry).

Special Requirements:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and eligible to hold & maintain CoA baseline clearance.
