Monash Health is a great place to work

Monash Health is Victoria's largest and most comprehensive health service. For more than 170 years, Monash Health and its predecessors have provided safe, high-quality healthcare and service for people at every life stage.

About Monash Simulation

Monash Simulation delivers a wide range of simulation-based services for health professionals at all levels, designed to enhance individuals' skills, inter-professional teamwork, and the translation of these into optimal patient care. The Simulation Centre, located in Moorabbin Hospital includes two high fidelity simulation suites, as well as multiple debriefing and skills rooms and has the capacity and technology to run high level complex inter-professional courses and other simulation-based activities.

We utilise simulation to support our medical, nursing, and allied health cohorts, ensuring we deliver best practice training and development for our frontline clinical teams. As part of our journey, we're now looking for a passionate and committed professional nursing instructor to assist our pursuit of excellence in the simulation field.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to assist in the design and delivery of high-quality education provided by Monash Simulation across the health service, in collaborative partnerships with clinical and education teams, focusing on patient and service outcomes. The simulation service utilises a comprehensive range of simulation modalities and is leveraged by fostering strong teaching and research partnerships with other simulation centres and universities across Australia and abroad. The role will provide opportunities for you to build your simulation experience and expertise, through assisting with the design, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of simulation-based activities. You will be part of a team of dynamic simulation educators providing centre-based and in-situ simulation programs across the network.

We envisage appointing this role at two to three days per week, with a total of 0.6 EFT available (or part thereof), enabling you to maintain your clinical skills through working in either a nursing education and/or direct patient facing role.

About You

You are enthusiastic and energetic, with a natural ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with others to find innovative solutions. You have gained some experience in the field of simulation and are passionate about health professions education. You may hold advanced qualifications in critical care nursing supported by the relevant AHPRA registration.

In particular, you can demonstrate:

  • An interest in high quality simulation-based education across a wide range of simulation modalities and inter-professional teams, which might include working with simulated or hybrid simulation participants and in-situ simulation.
  • Experience in operating simulation technologies and mannequins, performing control room activities, and taking on imbedded faculty roles is favourable but not required.
  • An interest in assisting with simulation research and a desire to undertake further study in simulation is desired.

Academic qualifications in simulation or health professions education will be highly regarded.

In Return

You will be supported by the Manager of Monash Simulation to develop your expertise in simulation, working alongside our dynamic multi-disciplinary team to implement the strategic vision of our simulation service.

For additional enquiries about this opportunity, please contact Jessica Gill, Monash Simulation Manager on 9928 8314 or ************@monashhealth.org.

We recognise the value of equal employment opportunity. We are committed to patient safety, promoting fairness, equity and diversity in the workplace and to Child Safe Standards.
