Overview

Simulation is a growing sub-field of IT and this position represents an excellent opportunity for an aspiring systems administrator to gain hands-on experience with exciting and practical technologies. We are a future focussed team where a candidate with interests in the military applications of software technology will fit right in.

About the role

We are seeking an energetic an experienced Linux enthusiast to join our growing technical team located in Watsons Bay in Sydney. This permanent, on-going position will bring your proven experience to support Simulation Systems for the Royal Australian Navy.

After extensive on-site training your primary role will be to support warfighting training and provide system level support as required.

This role is well suited to transitioning military technical or operational personnel with an interest in pivoting to the tech sector, or recent IT graduates with a security clearance who are looking to break into the defence sector.

Skills and experience

• Has a solid understanding of IT Fundamentals;
• Enjoys and has a methodical approach to problem solving;
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems;
• Good personal and professional communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders; and
• Ideally has a background with simulators or exposure in Defence industry.
