In this role, you will form a key part of a close-knit team responsible for the overall safety, operation and maintenance of Devonport Terminal, including ship receipt, pipeline transfers, bulk storage, gantry loading operations.  Under the guidance of the Terminal Manager, you will be trained in the operation and maintenance of terminal equipment and responsible for ensuring the safe handling and storage of fuel products and quality control.  Collaboration and communication among the team will be essential to the success of the operation and in order to resolve any operational issues and ensure process is followed.

Responsibilities

• Act as 2IC for Tasmanian Operations Manager with capacity and expertise to manage the operation independently when Ops Mgr is away or on leave.
• Adopt and promote work practices and procedures for all activities performed in accordance with Viva Energy HSSE Management System standards and legislative requirements, including:
  • Lead the application of Beyond Goal Zero safety culture, practices on site, with the rigorous application of HSSE-MS practices. 
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in site HSSE performance through proactive management and communications.
  • Support safe management of site activities through application of MoC, SC overrides, permit issuing, isolations (LOTO), assurance programs, emergency response etc. 
     
• Lead operational, PQ and maintenance activities to successfully facilitate the operation of the supply chain at Devonport Terminal, including: 
  • Manage driver, carrier, logistics and customer interactions and provide local support for broader commercial team;
  • Facilitate processes for customers including driver inductions, inspections, tanker/trailer tags, operational notifications, communications etc. 
  • Manage ship-to-shore discharge operations as Viva shore officer with contract resources safely and effectively; tasks include equipment set-up, safety toolboxes, discharges, product quality testing and controls. 
  • Monitoring, sampling and testing of fuel and fueling equipment
  • Conduct tank farm and gantry loading inspection and surveillance activities and other proactive maintenance tasks.
  • Support execution of site maintenance program and asset management activities, including provision of safe access to plant and equipment; oversight of contractor activities on site.
  • Manage bunker loading operations at various sites in Tas; support activity at Self’s Point Terminal in Hobart.
