About North East Link
The Spark Consortium has been selected for the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.
The Spark Consortium's Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
Position Overview: We are looking for a highly qualified FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer) Site Engineer to oversee and manage FRP-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a focus on the application of FRP materials in construction. The FRP Site Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects, meeting quality standards, and adhering to safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement project plans for FRP-related construction projects.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project completion.
FRP Material Selection and Application:
  • Conduct material assessments and recommend suitable FRP materials for various applications.
  • Oversee the proper installation and application of FRP materials on construction sites.
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of FRP construction.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams on FRP-related tasks.
Safety Compliance:
  • Enforce and promote safety protocols on construction sites, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for project teams involved in FRP applications.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in FRP material selection and application in construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance.
Please be advised that this project is a large scale T1 project with potential for 24/7 shift work, whilst we will aim for weekend work to be split fairly between employees there may be role requirements on occasion for evening shift work.
