An esteemed Australian Specialist Ground Improvement Contractor, who are renowned for their expertise in water control and ground stabilization for various infrastructure projects, both surface and underground, including dams, roads, tunnels, and mines are currently seeking to expand their team with an experienced full-time Site Engineer.
About you and the role
The role will be to provide your Engineering skills to ensure that the activities related to the slope stabilisation works are planned, organised and delivered through appropriate construction methodology to ensure project execution within budget and program.
Responsibilities of the role include;
- Manage the overall services delivery of the project, on or ahead of time with all client expectations met.
- Manage the execution of services engineering, procurement and construction activities and adopt appropriate construction methods.
- Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project.
- Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
- Coordinate all procurement and subcontractor engagement with Project Manager
- Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, with consideration given to degrees in Hydrogeology or Environmental studies
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Prior site construction experience
- Experience in Ground Improvement techniques such as grouting or slope stability (e.g., rockbolts, soil nails, shotcrete) is advantageous
- Project Management experience is desirable
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Positive and proactive attitude
