Overview
As a Site Operations Specialist at Sunterra's Wagerup Battery Farm, you will be a vital member of the project team, contributing to the smooth operation and success of the utility-scale solar farm and battery storage facility. This multifaceted role encompasses a range of responsibilities including manual labor, stock management, delivery and distribution coordination, and basic equipment maintenance. You will act as a cornerstone of onSite Operations, ensuring efficiency and supporting the project team in achieving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manual Labour and Lifting
Safely perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving equipment and materials, ensuring adherence to safety standards and protocols.
Stock Management
Oversee the inventory of small stock items, tools, and equipment, maintaining accurate records and ensuring availability of necessary materials for the project.
Delivery and Distribution
Coordinate the receipt and distribution of materials and equipment on site, liaising with suppliers and transport companies to ensure timely deliveries.
Equipment Maintenance
Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on onsite tools and machinery, identifying any need for repairs and coordinating with vendors or technical teams as required.
Project Support
Assist the project team with various tasks as needed, including preparation of reports, documentation, and supporting the coordination of project activities.
Safety Compliance
Champion onsite safety, participating in safety briefings, ensuring personal and team adherence to safety regulations, and contributing to a culture of safety.
Problem-Solving
Actively identify operational challenges and contribute to developing practical solutions to improve efficiency and resolve issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within construction, engineering, or related field, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to safely perform manual labor tasks.
- Familiarity with stock management practices and experience in coordinating logistics.
- Basic technical skills and ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Commitment to safety and environmental standards.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently to meet project demands.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
