IPI Packers (IPI) is an independently owned designer, manufacturer, and supplier of inflatable element technologies to the global Oil and Gas industry. Standard or custom-designed inflatable solutions to our client’s wellbore challenges can be supplied throughout the lifecycle of their asset from exploration through P&A. We are looking for an Operations Engineer to provide technical support to our clients and internal stakeholders. The role is based in Perth and would require occasional travel to the client sites for product deployment or training.
Qualifications & experience
- Tertiary education in an engineering discipline is preferred.
- Proven track record in the upstream O&G industry with a strong background in inflatable or intervention type tools.
- Competent knowledge of general oilfield operations and inflatable and general well intervention/workover solutions
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings/ specifications/ industrial standards.

- Able to handle project and task management and report, as necessary.
- Able to identify technical gaps in product offering.
- Assist with the design and manufacturing processes including assembly, and testing of products
- Review and update product assembly and operation procedures including recommending and implementing improvements where necessary
- Deploy IPI products and services on the client’s site, including offshore, overseas and remote locations.
- Coordinate and attend regional client systems integration testing (SIT).
- Attend design reviews of new and revised products and services.
- Development, preparation, and maintenance of a repository of technical documentation including running procedures, pressure charts, operations manuals, and training.
- Assist and support at relevant industry conferences, exhibitions & tradeshows.
- Manage and record post-site service job reporting.
- Coordinate and prepare post-job success and failure reports as required.
