About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Site Quantity Surveyor to join the Snowy 2.0 team across our multiple project sites; Lobs Hole, Tantagara and Marica. This role will be on a DIDO (drive-in, drive out) or FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) arrangement.
As a Site Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the delivery of commercial aspects of the Snowy 2.0 project. This includes providing commercial support to the project team, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, whilst ensuring that Snowy Hydro's ethics and values are maintained.
Reporting to the onsite Senior Project manager within the Construction team and an indirect line to the Project Controls Lead, this role will see you liaising with Snowy's representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including site surveillance, agreement of variations, claims and payment. The successful candidate will have multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines. You will be adept at performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements and have accountability, along with the project team for contractor commercial performance and strategy of the project
This role is a fixed term 3 year contract on a 14/7 rostered arrangement.
Key responsibilities
Lead by example and continuously demonstrate the highest level of health and safety standards in accordance with SHL OHS policies and exhibiting behaviours consistent with the Snowy Hydro Values
Ability to identify and implement value engineering initiatives and prepare Bill of Quantities (ideally RMS/TfNSW)
Prepare weekly and monthly commercial reports and plans
Strong commercial forecasting skills (including anticipated final account and cash flow)
Ability to agree Bill of Quantities rates and final accounts
Complete site surveillance reports and diaries and review contractor's progress reports
To be successful you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a FIFO site based team environment with underground mining being favourable.
Familiarity with EPCM projects on reimbursable terms and knowledge of current Construction Law.
Experience in performing Quantity Surveyor duties in a site based role, including chairing meetings, assessing progress achieved vs cost measurement and payment certificates and accruals calculations.
Ability to encourage and support junior members of the Commercial Team.
