Job Description
The Opportunity
We're looking for a new, Perth-based, team member, to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. We’re after someone passionate about learning and growing, so you don’t need to have all the skills and experience listed, as long as you have a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn from our experienced team. We will provide you with all the training and support you need to succeed in this role, and advance your career.
As a member of our SRE team, you will proactively support RWWA's technical systems and processes, to establish and maintain operational excellence. This involves continuous monitoring, improving, and automating of systems to minimise the risk of downtime, and ensure the smooth operation of business-critical services.
Please note, RWWA is seeking a fulltime candidate based in Perth, open to working at our head office in Osborne Park once or twice a week.
Some of the duties & tasks include:
- Develop and improve dashboards, monitoring, and alerting to improve our observability posture.
- Provide technical solutions to problems using scripts, tools, and applications.
- Reduce the duration and severity of incidents by developing and improving playbooks.
- Drive efficiency and effectiveness by automating manual tasks wherever possible.
- Collaborate with the wider business to minimize the impact of operational changes and ensure successful implementation.
- Act as a central point of contact for engineering squads on operational matters, helping to identify, remediate, and prioritize production issues.
- Manage the lifecycle of production defects, delivering timely and accurate communication to the wider business.
- Provide on-call and after-hours support on a rotating basis.
- Work in line with RWWA’s Incident Management process.

Qualifications
About You
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Some experience in a previous Operational or Application Support role would be beneficial.
- Some experience and familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Some experience and understanding of networking components and infrastructure.
- Some experience in writing scripts and tools, utilising at least one of HTML, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, AWS CLI, Python, SQL, and Lambda, among others.
- Some experience in software application support, some familiarity with at least one of the following languages will be helpful: C#, .Net, Python, JavaScript.
- A general understanding of tools & technologies like source control, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), deployment automation, and container concepts
