About the role:
Work as part of a team to facilitate the construction of the Mortlake Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), taking the lead on construction with particular focus on bulk earthworks, civil construction and electrical installation aspects.
Why this role matters
- Proactively manage the accurate execution construction activities to ensure that all work is in alignment with project goals and objectives
- Lead HSE initiatives across site personnel including contractor groups and foster an environment of working proactively together.
- Plan and participate to Toolboxes, review SWNS, JSEA, Risk assessments etc Demonstrate a commitment to safety and risk management through personal actions and leadership
- Use your exceptional knowledge of renewables and/or storage and people management, with your skills in bulk earthworks, civil construction and electrical installation to ensure a safe, productive site environment.
- Liaise with key stake holders including Origin Team members, Consultants, Contractors, Government representatives and the local community.
- Operate as a cohesive part of the leadership team and second in charge to the Site Project Manager.
What will you bring?
- Technical expertise in bulk earthworks, civil construction and a sound understanding on crane-lifts and electrical installation.
- Previous experience as a Site Superintendent in large civil or electrical projects, preferably BESS.
- High level of project contract management experience.
- Previous experience in building and managing a diverse team to success.
- Successful candidates will be required to participate in medical, reference and accreditation checks.
- Melbourne CBD based until mid June, then on site at Mortlake.
