The role requires a Mechanical Engineer with expertise in mechanical design, conveyor systems, and winch design. As a front-line contact for engineering and technical services support, this engineer fosters professional relationships with customers, attends mine sites, and provides technical solutions. - Understand industry equipment operations and contribute to design simplification.
- Optimise designs for the best value solution.

Structural and Mechanical Design
- Ensure calculations align with relevant standards (AS4100/AS3990/AS1170).
- Understand welding requirements (AS 1554.1/AS 1554.5).
- Calculate and select mechanical components.
- Utilize FEA tools for mechanical design.
- Deep understanding and experience with winch calculations (AS 1418.1) and wire rope selection (ISO 16625).
- Calculate friction brake systems and understand control systems.
- Calculate belt tensions and power requirements (DIN 22101/CEMA).
- Understand conveyor components, operation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with WA Mines Act, WA Workplace Health and Safety Regulations, and AS 4024.
- Identify proper WPS and WPQR in fabrication.
- Supervise fabrication, procurement, installation, and construction work.
- Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor Professional, Vault, Navisworks, Fusion 360.
- Produce technical specifications, design reports, and manuals.
- Develop documented processes.
- Create and present conceptual solutions.
- Attend engineering and design risk assessments.
- Provide technical assistance during installation, commissioning, and handovers.
- Advanced problem-solving and collaboration.
