ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Site Supervisor is with MSS, you will be responsible for overseeing refurbishment projects at aged care and retirement living facilities. Typically, you will managing multiple projects at time, 6-8 projects all at different stage, all approx. $100k in project value.
This role ensures that refurbishment projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, safely, and to the required quality standards. The Site Supervisor coordinates with various sub-contractors’ trades, manages resources, and maintains effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients, while being sensitive to the needs and environment of aged care and retirement living residents.
This is a full-time permanent position, the working hours change depending on client and project requirements, but typically, Monday to Friday 8 AM – 4:30 PM. You will from client site, and occasionally required to visit the office in Welshpool to catch up with the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Assist with quotes with existing clients.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of project plans and schedules specific to refurbishment projects.
- Organise sub-contractors as per program schedule
- Coordinate and supervise on-site activities to ensure efficient workflow, minimizing disruption to residents.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, particularly in a sensitive living environment.
- Site Management:
- Supervise and direct the activities of on-site workers and subcontractors.
- Ensure sub-contractors inducted, sign in, and compliant in rapid
- Oversee the daily construction onsite, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
- Manage and allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for the Project Manager.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure that any defects are corrected.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for both workers, sub-contractors, clients and residents.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits in Rapid Induct to ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.
- Address and rectify any safety issues promptly, with special attention to the well-being of elderly residents.
- Ensure you and sub-contractors are compliant in rapid Induct
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide updates on project status to MSS Project Admin team, and escalate issues to Senior Project Manager
- Liaise with clients, facility managers, residents, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders as required
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed and accurate project documentation
- Ensure all documentation is up to date and properly filed in SharePoint
- Raise tender numbers, project numbers and approved invoices in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Site Supervisor, Foreman, Construction Manager or similar related role - preferably with experience in aged care or retirement living refurbishments.
- Trade Qualification (Carpentry Preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management a related field preferred
