Job description

Site Supervisor required for FIFO 2:1 Goldfields.

  • 2:1 roster, FIFO ex Perth or local to Goldfields
  • Bulk + Detailed Earthworks
  • Full time ongoing employment
  • Hourly rate, paid for every hour worked
  • 11.5 hour days
  • Weekly payroll + superannuation on all hours worked

Key Responsibilities - Site Supervisor (Civil Construction)

Our Civil Site Supervisors plays a crucial role in construction projects, ensuring that all activities on the construction site proceed smoothly, safely, and according to plan. Overall, you will be ensuring the successful completion of construction projects by overseeing all aspects of construction site operations, from planning and execution to quality control and safety compliance.

  1. Supervision: Oversee all construction activities on the site, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing subcontractors and labourers.
  2. Quality Control: Ensure that the construction work meets quality standards and specifications outlined in the project plans and contracts. This involves conducting inspections and addressing any issues promptly.
  3. Safety: Safety is paramount on construction sites. Site supervisors enforce safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and ensure that all workers have the necessary safety training and equipment.
  4. Coordination: Coordinate with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure that the project progresses smoothly and according to plan.
  5. Progress Reporting: Track the progress of construction activities and report regularly to project managers and clients. This includes documenting work completed, materials used, and any challenges or delays encountered.
  6. Problem-solving: Construction projects often encounter unexpected challenges or delays. Site supervisors must be adept at problem-solving, finding solutions to keep the project on track and within budget.
  7. Cost Control: Monitor expenses related to labour, materials, and equipment to ensure that the project stays within budget. This involves identifying cost-saving opportunities and addressing any budget overruns.
  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, change orders, and safety inspections.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications required: 

  • Demonstrated success in supervising and leading civil construction teams
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve 
  • Work closely and respectfully with the client representative. 
  • You should have a full understanding of all safety, environment and quality regulations as well as being technologically capable, program savvy and responsive to the administrative aspects of the job role. 
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years Civil Construction Experience
  • Experience in Pavements, Bulk & Detailed Earthworks, Drainage, Road works and or major infrastructure. 
  • Competent and ticketed in operating various civil construction plant
  • Section 44 / WHS Statutory Responsibilities for Mining Supervisors(highly favourable)
  • Current Driver’s License (HR Minimum)
  • Construction industry Blue or White card
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relations
  • Have a level of QA Knowledge
  • Daily reporting and pre starts
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
