This role is focusing on “Data as an asset”. TfNSW uses data and behavioural insights to drive improvements. Data as an asset is not only about how organizations of the future manage data, but also about how they can become information-centric organizations with data at the heart of their transformation.
The role sites between the Engagement and Strategy teams, and liaises with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Data (Data Architects, Analysts, Scientists etc) & Governance teams etc.
The main objective is to scope, prepare and refine use cases for implementation by functional teams within the branch. Additionally, it involves identifying and optimizing data and analytics products and solutions to align with agreed-upon strategic priorities and objectives; creating roadmaps, looking at ways how they redirect strategic outcomes, classifying data as an asset, identifying value in the exchange of data etc, putting concepts together and supporting delivery.
Required skills & experience:
- 5 years+ Senior Business Development Analyst experience; must have very strong analysis skills
- A strong understanding of data analytics, and more specifically “Data as an asset”, and “data commercialisation”
- In-depth experience within Strategic Solutions; strategic thinking to help execute ideas. The ability to align data and analytics initiatives with organizational goals and objectives
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills
- Preferably experience in developing new analytics products and aligning to stakeholder needs
- A commercial mindset
- A good knowledge about the market scenario and the ability to adapt business models accordingly.
Key accountabilities include:
- Work in conjunction with Business Stakeholder Managers and their clients to gather the right data, insights and analytics about the business problem or opportunity that needs to be solved for or actioned
- Provide Business Development expertise to branch project teams formed to co-deliver data and analytics solutions bespoke to their divisions
- Work side by side with Business Stakeholder Managers and their clients to provide the necessary data and analytics strategies and solutions that support their strategic plans in line with their agreed priorities and outcome
- Work on business development proposals and use case scoping and sizing that meet the needs of each division across the cluster, bringing key insights that will help inform expedient and effective decision making
- Partner with technology innovation teams to contribute business development insights and identify linkages between use cases and these new technology product trials
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the branch product offer for the cluster, drawing on insights derived from the market, external customers and internal feedback received from the divisions
- Conduct regular market scans of best practice in the data and analytics space with the intent of looking for new solutions, approaches and frameworks that can be adopted by the cluster.
