Growth opportunity exist for a Snr Telecommunications / Electronic Engineer with experience in the transition from traditional SDH/PDH architectures to MPLS-TP solutions experience to join the specialist team based in Melbourne.
Additionally, this role will involve providing technical expertise in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting telecommunications networks, with a focus on MPLS-TP technologies.

Essential:
- More than 5 years’ experience in telecommunications systems involving MPLS-TP, SDH, and PDH architectures, encompassing design, documentation, and field installation.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting networks based on IP Networks.
- Strong understanding of related telecommunications technologies, including Microwave Radio, DWDM, and optical networking.
- Experience in Nokia DWDM, OTN X-Tran, Avara PDH
- CCNA or JNCIA certifications.
- Familiarity with quality assurance principles and standards, such as ISO9000 series.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Windows-based software, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Lead the transition from SDH/PDH architectures to MPLS-TP, including the development of migration strategies, implementation plans, and deployment procedures.
- Design and develop MPLS-TP network architectures, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, organisational goals, and industry best practices.
- Create comprehensive design documentation and testing procedures for MPLS-TP networks, adhering to approved standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, facilitating knowledge transfer and skill development in MPLS-TP technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and address technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct design reviews and negotiations with clients to ensure alignment with project objectives and customer expectations.
- Maintain active communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, milestones, and potential risks.
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Electronics Engineering.
- CCNP certification or equivalent.
- Experience with GE Smallworld and network equipment from Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia.
- Knowledge of security technologies, including Juniper SRX and Palo Alto firewall systems.
- Familiarity with telecommunications standards, such as ACA, ITU-T, and CCITT.
- ACA Cabling Accreditation.
