As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, ensure robust and stable SMT Room manufacturing processes and supply of the highest quality products to Production. This role is responsible for establishing and enforcing processes to enhance productivity, drive issue resolution, and serve as a subject matter expert in SMT room processes and PCBA manufacture.
Please note this role is based in Lonsdale South Australia - The successful candidate would be required to relocate to SA.
General Duties:
- Ensure that all Processes always meet REDARC Quality standards
- Develop and/or update Procedures related to SMT manufacturing processes
- Lead and/or participate in capital development projects for SMT and STH equipment to increase capacity and capability
- Participate in new product introductions to SMT
- Liaise with the Engineering Design Department on Prototype builds and drive positive outcomes for PCBA DFMA
- Support SMT production and SMT technical staff where needed with the writing of Production and Prototype Programs for Solder Paste Printing, SPI, SMT Placement, AOI and Selective Soldering
- Participate and be involved with Lean Improvement activity within the SMT room
- Lead and mentor Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineering and Process Technicians with Root Cause Analysis when process problems and breakdowns occur
- Assist in the training of team, in quality control and Standard Operating Procedures
- Provide Prototype support to the SMT Process Engineering Technicians and are responsible for feedback back to Engineering Design team on issues regarding productivity and manufacturability.
- Troubleshoot Equipment and Process failures, ensuring troubleshooting information is captured to improve outcomes and reduce future lost time
- Lead Root Cause Analysis teams
- Undertake other reasonable tasks delegated to you by the Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent Professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential):
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment including SMT Process knowledge.
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Trained.
- “Hands on” approach and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence with Microsoft Office and REDARC’s MRP software systems.
- Detailed understanding of Lean production principles.
- PFMEA knowledge and statistical data analysis skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Desirable):
- Automotive manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of ISO9000 & ISO14001.
- Substantial experience in a Manufacturing Environment including SMT Process knowledge
- Management or lead of small cross functional teams
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma Trained
- “Hands on” approach
- Initiative, drive and enthusiasm
- Must be fully conversant in hand soldering technology using Lead and Lead Free guidelines.
- Must be confident with Microsoft Office and Redarc’s MRP software systems.
- Attention to detail, especially with respect to SMT inspection.
