Terrific opportunity for an innovative and strategic Social Media specialist to join a highly regarded Federal Government Agency in the emergency management sector. This exciting APS 6 role will see you drive the delivery of the Agency's Social Media strategy. You will utilise digital channels to communicate the work of the Agency and its programs to a variety of audiences, and provide high-level advice to staff and stakeholders on optimising digital communications.
On offer is an initial 12 month non-ongoing contract, or S26 transfer, with genuine potential for extension or permanency. This role can be based in either Canberra or Brisbane, with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.
Part of a small and cohesive Digital Channels and Creative Production team within a Media and Communications Branch, this role will see you:
- Lead and execute the Agency's Social Media strategies and initiatives for various audiences, including crafting tailored strategies for programs and campaigns, overseeing content creation, publication, and reporting
- Collaborate closely with different departments within the Agency to develop engaging and accessible content across multiple Social Media platforms and the Agency's website
- Manage the digital communities across social, moderating and engaging with the audience, and escalating and managing issues as required
- Maintain and enhance reporting processes, using insights to continuously refine and enhance the effectiveness of the Agency's Social Media strategies
- Research, write, and edit content for the Agency's Social Media platforms, which may involve creating blog posts, longer-form content, and visual assets, collaborating with internal and external creative teams as needed.
Skills and Experience required:
- Demonstrated experience in Social Media management, digital marketing, and content creation in a similar role
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
- Proven experience coordinating Social Media accounts, managing online communities, creating a broad range of digital content
- Track record of managing Social Media channels and providing advice on digital communications to senior staff
- Practical experience in content production, collaborating with other creatives to create engaging Social Media content
- A degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline beneficial
- Australian citizenship and a baseline clearance or the ability to obtain essential
