Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 Social Media Manager

Position Summary
As Advisor (Social Media) you will drive the delivery of the Agency’s Social Media strategy. Utilizing our digital channels to communicate the work of the Agency and its programs to a variety of audiences and providing high-level advice to staff and stakeholders on optimizing digital communications.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about all things digital, with experience managing online communities, creating engaging and accessible visual and written content and have a detailed understanding of Social Media publishing, listening, and reporting processes.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities
The Advisor (Social Media) will:
- Lead the execution of the Agency’s Social Media strategy and products for a range of audiences, including the creation of program and campaign specific strategies from planning and content creation to publishing and reporting.
- Collaborate with program areas and communicators across the Agency to develop engaging and accessible content for the Agency’s channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube).
- Manage the digital communities across social, moderating and engaging with the audience on behalf of the Agency and escalating and managing issues when required.
- Maintain reporting processes and utilize findings to consistently experiment, test, and improve the delivery of the Agency’s Social Media strategy.
- Research, write/create and edit content for the Agency’s social accounts. This may include writing blog stories for our website, long form content pieces, creating social graphics and/or collaborating with creative teams both from the Agency and our partners and other government departments.
Experience/Role Requirements/Qualifications:
- Our ideal candidates will have extensive previous experience as a Social Media coordinator and/or in government communications and media roles.
- The Media and Communications Branch works with a wide variety of stakeholders, therefore a high level of communication, and wide breadth of skills and understanding is required to operate in a complex environment.
- A key aspect of the role is to have demonstrated skills and experience in the coordination of Social Media accounts, in particular the management of online communities, creation of a broad range of digital content and the ability to translate insights into actionable improvements.
